Olsen & Fielding Moving Services is proud to announce its participation in this year’s Twelfth Annual UniGroup Virtual Event to benefit United Way. This year’s event is a “10K a Day Challenge” designed to promote health and wellness at work and within the community, in a friendly competition against other agencies across the nation belonging to Mayflower-United’s family network of top-quality, worldwide movers.

The goal of the competition is to encourage each participant to exceed 10,000 steps a day, using a Fitbit or Smartwatch or smartphone pedometer application to track steps. Participants will use their own FitBit or pedometer applications to count steps from the beginning of the event, on Monday, September 24 through the end of the event on Sunday, December 2, 2018. Scores will be determined by dividing the total week’s total steps by the number of participating team members. The average scores at the end of the event will be calculated, and the agency’s team that has the highest cumulative step score in each category (Office Professionals, Office Professionals Individual Top Stepper, Warehouse Dynamos Team, Warehouse Dynamos Individual Top Stepper)

Olsen & Fielding’s team “The Pack Rats,” will compete in the office category of the competition, against other office teams from other agencies. All participating agencies will receive a tax-deductible contribution, with 50 percent of each donation going towards the agency’s local United Way organization, and 50 percent going to the Greater St. Louis United Way. In addition, each agency will benefit from increased health and awareness, and a possible deduction from healthcare premiums for event participation.

In addition, the winning team will receive a jade glass trophy and recognition as the “Most Physically Fit Agency in the UniGroup System” for 2018. The winning individuals in each category (those with the highest number of steps counted) will receive a brand-new fitness tracker.
